This moment is not an accident.
A few years ago, producing an audiobook to this standard wasn't practical outside a studio. Several things changed at once: GPU-accelerated inference made high-quality speech synthesis fast enough to run at book length; speech models became expressive enough to carry emotion and character, not just pronounce words; and the surrounding production work — analysis, planning, mastering, packaging — became something software can carry end to end. Orpheus exists because these matured together.

Orpheus runs its AI inference on NVIDIA GPUs via CUDA, so production stays fast as quality and volume grow. The service is containerized with Docker for reproducible deployment, and audio is assembled and mastered with FFmpeg. We list here only what is part of the current build; additional NVIDIA technologies may be incorporated as development continues.
